Clinical Laboratory

We conduct diagnostic tests on patient samples, such as blood and urine, to aid in disease diagnosis and management. We utilize various technologies across specialties like microbiology and hematology to provide accurate results. Staffed by trained professionals, the unit ensures quality control and compliance with regulatory standards. It also supports research and clinical studies, contributing to improved testing techniques.

Dermato/Pathology

We offer microscopic examination and diagnosis of skin diseases through the analysis of skin biopsies and other specimens. We also offer special staining, immunohistochemistry and telepathology in collaboration with University Hospital of Salamanca.

Allergology

Focused on diagnosing and managing allergies and related conditions. We perform tests to identify specific allergies and create personalized treatment planse.g patch test . The primary goal is to enhance patients’ quality of life by effectively managing allergic reactions and associated symptoms.

Maggot Debridement Therapy (MDT)

Maggot Debridement Therapy involves using sterile larvae of the Lucilia sericata fly to clean and promote healing in chronic wounds. The maggots selectively consume dead or infected tissue while leaving healthy tissue intact, reducing the risk of infection and accelerating the healing process.

Histopathology Services

The RDTC Histopathology Laboratory,located within the RDTC compound, offers comprehensive fee-for-service histopathology services for both diagnostic and research purposes. We handle all kinds of surgical pathology specimens for a wide range of pathological conditions that require histopathological analysis. Our laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for processing and handling formalin fixed, paraffin embedded (FFPE) and fresh frozen tissue specimen for routine H&E staining as well as special staining such as PAS, Iron Colloidal stain, Job-Fitte stain etc. Our laboratory is also equipped with an ultra-modern microimaging network instrument (the LEICA MDM 108) for telepathology services. The equipment is connected to broadband secure internet capable of sharing images and teleconferencing.
